PSLPD: Florida Woman in hospital gown arrested after ambulance stolen

Port St.Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com)-The Port St.Lucie Police are reporting a Florida woman in a hospital gown was arrested after she stole an ambulance.

Here are the details directly from the Port St. Lucie Police:
25-year-old Marquisa Allen is now facing several charges after stealing an unoccupied ambulance yesterday afternoon from the parking lot of HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, located in the 1800-BLK of SE Tiffany Ave.
Allen was sitting outside on a bench in her hospital gown when she decided to steal the vehicle as ambulance personnel were inside dropping off a patient. Allen fled the parking lot but unbeknownst to her, the ambulance had a GPS tracker which allowed Officers to immediately provide the suspect’s location to our surrounding law enforcement partners. Florida Highway Patrol located the stolen ambulance stuck in traffic on the Turnpike.
As FHP Troopers closed in on the suspect, Allen exited the ambulance and began to run away but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. FHP arrested Marquisa Allen of Miami and took her to the Martin County Jail for giving false information to police, driving while license suspended, and resisting without violence. Additional charges from PSLPD will be forthcoming for Allen.
Great job to our PSLPD Officers, Florida Highway Patrol and Martin County Sheriff’s Office for the joint effort in quickly apprehending this suspect!
