According to an arrest affidavit, Burnette admitted to having sex with the student once in the back of his truck last month. Police say it happened as he was driving the girl home after a school band event. Investigators say the victim had been a family friend for the past 4 or 5 years and had looked at him as a mentor. Burnette was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and sexual battery on a minor. He was given a $600,000 bond. If he does bond out, he’ll be ordered to wear an ankle bracelet and have pre-trial supervision.
