Port St Lucie Police Detectives Investigating Armed Home Invasion

Port St. Lucie (treasurecoast.com) -On June 18, 2021 at approximately 4:28pm, Port St Lucie Police Officers responded to the 400 Block of SE Asbury about a victim that was just robbed. The victim, an adult male was sitting in his garage when a black GMC Acadia parked in front of his mailbox.  The suspect/driver exited wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with “Police” on the front/back, a gold badge around his neck and a black full-face mask (only eyes were visible).  The suspect stated he had a warrant for his arrest, placed handcuffs on the victim, shut the garage door and turned the power off to the residence.

The suspect later informed the victim, “I’m not a cop, I’m here to rob you”, pulled out a black handgun, and pointed it at the victim’s head.  While the suspect was searching the victim’s house, he ran to a nearby residence, and Port St Lucie Police Department was notified.  The suspect is described as a white male, 5’9”-6’0”, 275-300 lbs.  He took a small safe, firearm, and BB gun.

The suspect called the victim by his first name.  It is unclear what type of relationship the suspect and the victim have, if any.  There have been no other reported incidents of this nature.  This is an ongoing investigation.

PSLPD are asking neighbors on the block to check their security cameras.  Tips can be reported to Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers 1-800-273-TIPS (8477), Detective Palmer (772) 879-3397, or Detective Zamoyski (772) 871-7312.
