Police remind us not to shoot off guns July 4th
TreasureCoast, Fl- Police are reminding you not to shoot off guns to celebrate the 4th of July. Shooting a firearm into the air in celebration of the holiday can have deadly consequences. Just last year a man watching fireworks at Busch Gardens was injured by celebratory gunfire.
Boynton Beach police are reminding residents quote “what goes up must come down.” Police are urging gun owners to keep the community safe and not fire a gun on the 4th.
And the St Lucie County Fire District is reminding you to check your grill before those 4th of July barbecues. July is the peak month for grill fires, and roughly half of the injuries involving grills are thermal burns. If you have a propane grill and you haven’t used it for awhile, make sure to check for any leaks before you start grilling. Apply a light soap and water solution to the hose. Any bubbles would indicate a leak. If you can stop the leak, get it serviced by a professional. If you can’t stop the leak, contact the fire department.
