FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF STUART OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN CHOIR AND PERFORM AT CARNEGIE HALL IN NYC
Stuart, Fla. (July 15, 2015)…First Presbyterian Church of Stuart is offering local singers the opportunity to perform in two concerts at the church in March and to join singers from across the country to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City next June.
Dr. Linda Beckman, the church’s music director, is looking for singers and instrumentalists to perform Beethoven’s Mass in C under the direction of Maestro C. Myron Flippin in two concerts to be held at First Stuart Presbyterian Church on March 12 and 13. The concert at Carnegie Hall, also the Mass in C conducted by Maestro Flippin, will be June 5. The cost for singers to participate in the New York concert will be approximately $3,000 per person, which includes air fare, hotel, and airport transportation.
“This is a phenomenal opportunity for lovers of classical music to sing a wonderful classic work by Beethoven,” says Dr. Beckman.
Preliminary rehearsals will begin on Thursday, September 10 from 6-7pm in the choir room at First Presbyterian Church of Stuart. It is important to attend at least one of the first three rehearsals in September, especially for those who want to sing in Carnegie Hall. However, it is not mandatory for participants in the church concerts to make the trip to New York next summer.

Dr. Beckman directs the musical program at First Presbyterian Church of Stuart. Worship services feature a variety of performances by the choir and musicians on piano, organ, flute, saxophone, and hand bells. Guest soloists and instrumentalists also perform at the church frequently.
