New info re Indiantown Police involved shooting.
On Monday afternoon Martin County Sheriff William Snyder released new information about a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Indiantown.
We now know the deputy who is assigned to work in the court house fired six shots at a machete wielding man. That man later died after being struck by five bullets in his upper body.
Sheriff Snyder said his deputy was working overtime on Friday night in Indiantown. He said the deputy was forced to shoot 46-year-old Jerry Richardson. Jerry Richardson was carrying a 25 to 30 inch machete.
Snyder said they do not have any surveillance video of the shooting.
The Sheriff’s office has had previous run ins with Jerry Richardson. Mr Richardson was Baker Acted and sent through the Mental Health System.
