Martin County Commissioner Forum Debate May 2 2016
The Martin County Commissioner Forum Debate was held May 2, 2016 at the Blake Library. The hosts were News Director Mike Thomas -WSTU News, KC Ingram-The KC Ingram Show and Richard Geissinger from the MC Tax Payers Assn.
I took a lot of notes and decided with the exception of a few comments the best thing to do let all of you listen for yourself and make up your own minds. For myself , the most important thing is that who ever sits in the chair of a commissioner must have a clear non propaganda understanding of the water and an understanding what happens when those locks are open.
Here let me show you.
SO to remind you group of deniers that thinks that the water from down river creeps up the river, some how magically goes on the other side of the gates of hell and then comes back out the locks you need to do some research. Yes there is a septic issue and those big ones are being dealt with but we are not destroyed until the locks are open. Yes we have local run off from all the ag up and down the canal. Big pipes that go directly into the C-44 but so far no one wants to do anything about it. It’s a little disingenuous to say look at the north of the lake while your denying the discharges are doing anything but spreading supposed non toxic tannin like fairy dust here. You can’t have it both ways. Think about what you are saying. It doesn’t even make sense.
I just want to give everyone a chance to think through what they are actually saying and contact people like the Indian Riverkeeper to understand this particular issues. Cleaning up our lagoon is not rocket science. It was actually looking great before the discharges.
We cannot have deniers anymore. We, the taxpayers of Martin County, has spent millions of our taxpayer money to fix the issues.
Being polluted is no longer an option.
So here are fun pics and the audio. Please listen to it. Make sure you register to vote. This is a critical time for Martin County. We need everyone to participate.
Thanks so much Mike from WSTU, KC and Richard!
