At approximately 9:25 P.M. last evening, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a man reported to be high on Flakka who had just stabbed two other men.
Deputies responded to the 3900 block of 47th street in Gifford where they located a fifty (50) year old victim with multiple stab wounds. That victim was flown to Lawnwood Medical Center in critical condition. A second victim, a forty-one (41) year old male with minor injuries, was also located nearby and transported by ground to Indian River Medical Center. The Indian River Medical Center emergency room is currently operating under lock down status which is standard for gunshot or stabbing incidents of this nature.
Indian River County Sheriff’s detectives have identified the suspect in the double stabbing case as Travis Gordon (31) of Gifford. Overnight, detectives obtained two warrants for Gordon each for attempted first degree murder. Deputies and detectives continue to search the Gifford area for Gordon where he is believed to be hiding. At this time, both victims in this case are alive and one remains hospitalized.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “Someone out there knows where Travis Gordon is this morning. We need them to come forward and help us take him into custody. He tried to kill two people last night and we want him off the streets and in our custody.” Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Gordon is encouraged to call 9-1-1 and report his location.
