Two days before his trial is expected to start, Eriese Tisdale’s lawyers asked a St Lucie County judge to toss the prosecutor from the case and delay the trial, once again.
Tisdale admits he shot and killed Sgt. Gary Morales on February 28, 2013, but claims self defense.
Tisdale faces the possibility of the death penalty if convicted of killing the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputy.
Jury candidates will return for questioning Tuesday.
The prosecutor and defense must seat 12 jurors and 2 alternates.
The judge is expected to rule on all motions Tuesday.
