Jupiter Police want active shooter armor kits
The Jupiter Police Department want to equip all its officer with active shooter armor kits. The police department is requesting that federal forfeiture funds be used to purchase about 120 active shooter body armor kits to ensure officer safety. The kits would include a body armor harness to protect officers from high caliber rifle rounds, a carry bag, and a clearly marked “Police” outer body armor vest that covers the existing worn bullet resistant vest. The department was awarded a grant to assist in the purchase of the active shooter armor kits. The remaining cost would come from the Federal Asset Forfeiture funds. The town council will vote later today on whether to approve the additional funding.
