Join us for a community meeting for phase 2 of PSL’s Mobility Plan

What:  The City of Port St. Lucie is hosting a virtual (Zoom) and in-person meeting with the community on phase #2 of the City of Port St. Lucie’s Mobility Plan and Mobility Fee. The City is looking for community feedback for future mobility improvements. Jonathan Paul of NUE Urban Concepts will lead the meeting and welcomes the expertise the public will contribute.
When:  Monday, June 20, 2022, at 6 p.m.
Where: There are two ways to attend, in person at the Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Boulevard, or virtually through Zoom. Registration is required to attend virtually. If you require accommodations to attend, including assistance with a computer or internet access, you are encouraged to contact the Communications Department at 772-871-5219.
Why:  The City of Port St. Lucie is interested in providing residents and visitors with multimodal transportation options. Mobility fees are allowed to be collected from new development and redevelopment to fund the Mobility Plan under Florida statutes, as a proportionate fee for development impacts to the transportation network. Key topics for discussion include: a detailed description and identification of multimodal improvements, interim capacity projects, and creative mobility solutions.
A Mobility Plan is a forward-looking and progressive approach to integrating land use and transportation improvements that provide people with the opportunity to safely, comfortably and conveniently walk, bicycle, ride transit, drive, or use new technology to move around their city. Mobility fees are based on the Mobility Plan, which specifies improvements to expand and improve roads and intersections, while also providing multimodal improvements such as sidewalks, shared-use paths, multimodal ways, crosswalks and trails.
The Mobility Plan Phase #1 study, technical report and fee, developed by NUE Urban Concepts a planning firm in Florida widely recognized for its expertise in mobility fees and impact fees, was implemented on October 5, 2021.
