FORT PIERCE – The Zora Neale Hurston Branch Library will host several action-packed movies, along with some educational programs, this December.
The Contraption Fraction program gets techie on Saturday, Dec. 19 and Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. Best suited for boys and girls in grades 4 and up, this free, hands-on program explores the wonder of technology.
Parents are also reminded to bring their children in for Legos at the Library on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m.
Movie lovers can enjoy “Furious 7” (2015) on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. Featuring Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, the most recent chapter in the “Fast and Furious” series follows Deckard Shaw’s revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family for his comatose brother. “Furious 7” is rated PG-13 with a running time of 137 minutes.
Video game fans can plug into “Pixels” (2015) on Thursday, Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. Featuring Adam Sandler and Kevin James, a group of grown-up video gamers do battle with classic arcade characters sent by aliens to destroy Earth. “Pixels” is rated PG-13 with a running time of 106 minutes.
“Ant Man” (2015) crawls into the library on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. Featuring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, the latest in the Marvel franchise explains how cat burglar Scott Lang becomes a microscopic superhero. “Ant Man” is rated PG-13 with a running time of 117 minutes.
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a pillow or blanket and are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks. Signed permission slips are required for those under the age of 13.
Note: All St. Lucie County Libraries will be closed Friday, Dec. 25 and Saturday, Dec. 26 in observance of Christmas.
