It was a normal day for Jonathan Thomas, Field Appraiser for the Saint Lucie County Property Appraiser. His assignment had him at a Fort Pierce home doing an updated inspection. The owner, Sondra, engaged Thomas in conversation about her home and brought up her struggle with her wheelchair that she had borrowed from a friend. She told Thomas that she had to return the borrowed wheelchair, leaving her without a means to get around easily.
While walking his dog the next morning, Thomas noticed a neighbor bringing out a wheelchair at his garage sale. Without a second thought, Thomas purchased the wheelchair from his neighbor and cleaned it up.
Thomas was excited to surprise Sondra with her new wheelchair that afternoon. She was overjoyed that this once stranger was the generous man giving her hope again; restoring her faith in humanity.
