Beginning in May, the INSIDER began highlighting some of the programs the city has to help the homeless in our city.
Today we wrap up our three part series by highlighting WPB’s
Police department outreach.
The West Palm Beach Police Department’s Community Response Team works with several local agencies to assist homeless in our city. Officers partner with the HOT Team (Homeless Outreach Team) and visit homeless men and women on a daily basis.
Officers frequently are on a first name basis with members of the homeless community and are often the first to discover an individual may be in need of, or eligible for assistance from Veteran Affairs, food stamps, disability, etc.
