Fort Pierce Police Department Named Business of the Year
FORT PIERCE – The Fort Pierce Police Department was named the Business of the Year for Non-profit Organizations Subsidized at the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce’s 31st Annual Business and Industry Awards Dinner presented by TD Bank. The awards dinner was held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Treasure Coast Lexus.
Chief Diane Hobley-Burney, Deputy Chief Frank Amandro, and Deputy Chief Kenny Norris were on hand to accept the honor which recognized the implementation of the Front Porch Roll Calls. The new initiative brings the department’s roll calls to neighborhoods, residents’ homes or businesses’ front doors. It provides opportunities for our citizens to meet the officers assigned to their respective areas of the City. It has been very well received by the community.
There were three organizations that received recognition in the same category as finalists: first-place finalist was Guardian ad Litem, second-place finalist was the Fort Pierce Police Athletic League, and third-place finalist was the Port St. Lucie Police Athletic League.
The Fort Pierce Police Department wishes to congratulate the finalists and the following semi-finalists in the Non-profit Organizations Subsidized category: CareerSource Research Coast, Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County, Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County, New Horizons of the Treasure Coast, Inc., St. Lucie County Fire District, St. Lucie County Property Appraiser, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, and USDA-ARS, US Horticultural Research Laboratory.
Also, Chief Hobley-Burney would like to thank the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce for recognizing the Fort Pierce Police Department and the other businesses in our area that are working toward a better St. Lucie County.
