Florida Legislator arrested on DUI in PSL
A Florida legislator was arrested in St Lucie County on a DUI charge.
Authorities received a call late Thursday night about a reckless driver in the southbound lanes of the turnpike.
Troopers were dispatched. They pulled over a Jeep matching the call description.
The FHP states a trooper could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. He noticed an open wine bottle in the front passenger seat.
The driver was identified as State Representative Cary Pigman.
A breathalyzer showed his blood-alcohol level at 0.14, above the legal limit of 0.08.
Pigman was arrested and transported him to the St. Lucie County Jail.
