Florida House approves Hobe Sound incorporation

Hobe Sound

, Fl-The Florida House has passed a bill that would allow Hobe Sound residents to vote on incorporation. The measure passed the house with a vote of 111-1, with the lone no vote coming out of Central Florida. If the bill passes through the Florida Senate and is signed by the Governor, then Hobe Sound residents would vote on the August 28th primary ballot. The town of Hobe Sound would be governed by five town council members. The county would still provide law enforcement and fire rescue services. Hobe Sound could be the second Martin County community to incorporate in as many years. Indiantown incorporated in November.
