Florida Dept. of Emergency Management confirms test alert was an accident
Florida Dept. of Emergency Management literally wakes everyone up at 4:50 AM. “Good morning! Nothing to see here! Go back to sleep!
Officials with the Florida Dept. of Emergency Management tweeted out Thursday morning that a test emergency alert was mistakenly sent out to thousands of phones across Florida around 4:50 a.m.
The test alert was only meant to run on televisions, and not be sent to cell phones.
FDEM said in another Twitter post that they are “taking the appropriate action to ensure this will never happen again and that only true emergencies are sent as alerts in the middle of the night.”
We are naming today Grumpy Thursday.
