Fleeing Car Thieves Meet K-9 – Kasper Wins

Three teens who tried to elude deputies in a stolen car, then bail in a wooded area, are in custody tonight, after learning the hard way, that canines track better in the brush.

Deputies on the 300-Shift were notified of a reckless vehicle near Salvatori Road, just after 6:30pm. Deputy Grace Zopf, and Deputy Billy Jaques, quickly spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the car sped off. The vehicle then made a sudden stop near Cove Road, where the three occupants bailed out and ran into a wooded area. Deputy Ronald Manganiello and his partner, K-9 Kasper, immediately picked up a tracking scent, and in no time, the suspects were nose to nose with K-9 Kasper. The three were taken into custody. Their names will be released once they are charged.

K-9 Kasper is having a busy week. Just last night, he came face to face with a suspected drug dealer. Kasper won that one too.
