Ft Pierce: Drug related arrest after overdose
As a result of an overdose yesterday, St Lucie County detectives were able to gather sufficient information for a search warrant on a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn in the 3200 block of South U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce. Inside the room and packaged for sale, detectives located 19 grams of cocaine in both powder and crack form, 14 grams of heroin/fentanyl, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Wilbert Kirkland was arrested in the hotel room. He was charged with trafficking heroin, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail and held on a $151,500 bond.
“This is a clear result of the proactive approach to the overdose problem we see each and every day,” said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.
