Deputies disarm woman with knife on New Year’s Eve.
Just two days earlier she was arrested for stabbing her boyfriend
Indian River County, Fla (TreasureCoastcom)- On New Year’s Eve, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a disturbance in the 400 block of 10th Place SW in Vero Beach. When they arrived, they located Tracy Jones (36) acting erratically and causing a disturbance. As they spoke with neighbors, she began shouting and cursing in the street. Jones retreated into the home as deputies approached and knocked requesting her to come outside. Jones opened the door with a knife in hand charging towards the two deputies on scene. Both gave her commands to drop the knife as they retreated backwards off the porch of the home. Jones eventually complied. She was then charged with felony aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and disorderly intoxication.
Jones was also arrested on December 28, 2017. She was charged with felony aggravated battery domestic violence for stabbing her live-in boyfriend. After a heated argument, she stabbed him in the arm, forcing him to crawl out of a bathroom window and flee to a neighbor’s home to call for help.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “Domestic violence continues to permeate all socioeconomic levels of our society. It is the silent killer behind closed doors. Fortunately, our deputies were able to disarm Jones before she could hurt anyone else this evening.” Jones is being held at the Indian River County Jail without bond as she awaits trial on both incidents.
