Construction is underway along the Treasure Coast on I-95 while during peak holiday travel season.
A 50 million dollar, 12 mile road widening project is taking place just north of Exit 147 all the way to the Brevard County line. The entire length of the project has been split into two lane highways, however, holiday travelers like Carl Davis so far say it hasn’t been a big deal.
But officials say it could end up as a headache.
With gas prices the lowest they’ve been in years, more holiday drivers are expected and road congestion is possible.
They urge anyone passing through to drive safely and stay aware.
