Bring your old tires in to help prevent Zika

Bring your old tires in to help prevent Zika.

Martin County officials have been holding a month long effort for people to turn in their old passenger vehicle tires.

Tires left outside collect rainwater. This s allow the mosquitoes to quickly breed and multiply.

There are two Saturday’s left to take advantage of the free program. This Saturday officials will be at the Hobe Sound Community Center from 8am until 1pm.

Next Saturday, April 29th, will be the last day people can turn in their tires for free.

That event will be held at Post Family Park in Indiantown.

The events are restricted to Martin County residents.  Up to 10 tires may be recycled per family.

No commercial or tractor tires will be accepted.
