Cindy Faye Spickelmier
An autopsy is scheduled today on the body of a female inmate.
St Lucie County Sheriff’s Deputies say 51-year-old Cindy Faye Spickelmier grabbed her chest and told fellow inmates to get a nurse just after 8:30 Monday night. She collapsed on the floor and responding deputies gave her CPR however she died later at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
Investigators say, Spickelmier had tried to take her life before.
She reportedly tried to strangle herself with a seatbelt while being taken to jail on a battery charge after slapping a nurse at the hospital while being treated for severe intoxication.
She was evaluated again, then returned jail where she was found unresponsive.
