Florida Wildlife officials began their annual manatee count on Thursday. The annual count takes place when Manatees gather near warm-water outlets, making it much easier for officials to count the number of manatees in local waters.
As the manatees population continues to grow, officials will soon be changing their classification from endangered to threatened. Good news for us, and the local manatee population.
