Andrew Hunt Teams Up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County for Shop with a Cop event
Andrew Hunt, trustee for the Roy A. Hunt Foundation is teaming up with the Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, Ft. Pierce and Port St. Lucie Police Departments for this year’s Shop with a Cop event. He and his wife Robin are donating $10,000 to be used by Club members to purchase holiday gifts.
There will be 100 kids selected to Shop with a Cop. Each child will be given $100 dollars to purchase holiday gifts for their family. Club members will be transported to Walmart and matched up with their law enforcement partner. They will shop together utilizing the allotted funds. “Any time we can bring joy to the life of a child is a special experience for the child, and the person bringing the joy,” stated Sheriff Ken Mascara. “This event allows us to bring joy to the lives of these children who otherwise might not have experienced the joy of receiving Christmas.”
“We’re excited for our Club Members to be part of the Shop with a Cop program,” said Will Armstead, Interim CEO of the Boys & Girls Club. “We are thrilled to receive this donation and the support of Andrew and Robin Hunt. Without them, this event would not be possible.”
