Alert Citizen helps MCSO catch alleged burglar

Alert Citizen helps MCSO catch alleged burglar.

MARTIN COUNTY (Treasurecoast.com)- When a concerned citizen saw 42-year old Michael Mirucki perusing through the River Pines community this week, he had a sneaking suspicion that something was off. So he asked Mirucki who he was and what he was doing. Mirucki replied, “I’m looking for Jack”, and walked away, but not before the citizen snapped his photo. The citizen then called the Martin County Sheriff’s Office to report the incident.

A short time later, two homeowners reported that their houses were burglarized. Detectives immediately began to work on identifying the man who was “looking for Jack”. With the public’s help, they identified him. Today, Martin County Sheriff’s Warrants Detectives, working in the capacity of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, located Michael Mirucki in Palm Beach County. Mirucki was charged with burglary and grand theft. He was transported to the Martin County Jail where he remains on a $400,000 bond.
