Major Retail and Automotive Projects
Port St. Lucie continues its rapid commercial expansion with several high-profile projects now in the approval pipeline. A 6,372-square-foot Wawa fuel station and convenience store is proposed for the northwest corner of Village Parkway and Becker Road in the Southern Grove development. The project represents the popular chain’s continued expansion into St. Lucie County.
A 35,325-square-foot Tesla dealership is planned for the southeast corner of Becker Road and Anthony F. Sansone Sr. Boulevard, also within Southern Grove. The electric vehicle showroom would mark Tesla’s first dedicated dealership location in the Treasure Coast region.
Additionally, a 2,824-square-foot Murphy USA convenience store and gas station is proposed for the northeast corner of Port St. Lucie Boulevard and Bayshore Boulevard.

Municipal and Educational Facilities
The City of Port St. Lucie is moving forward with a three-story, 47,238-square-foot Public Works Administration Building at the northeast corner of Cameo Boulevard and Crosstown Parkway. The facility will consolidate municipal operations and accommodate growth in city services.
A 50,224-square-foot Darwin School of Autism K-12 facility is proposed east of Darwin Boulevard and north of Kestor Drive. The specialized education center would serve students with autism spectrum disorders throughout the region.
Residential and Fitness Development
Residential construction continues with thirteen townhome units planned west of Port St. Lucie Boulevard between N. Globe Avenue and S. Globe Avenue. The Globe Avenue Townhomes project adds to the city’s growing multifamily housing stock.
A 17,300-square-foot Planet Fitness center is proposed south of Discovery Way and east of Community Boulevard within the Shoppes at the Heart development. An adjacent 15,876-square-foot retail building is planned as Phase II of the same shopping center.
Industrial and Specialty Uses
Industrial development includes a 20,000-square-foot warehouse and office building proposed north of Swan Avenue between South Macedo Boulevard and Biltmore Street. A 6.5-acre open storage area for contractors is planned north of Commerce Centre Drive and east of Glades Cut-Off Road.
A 7,539-square-foot Extreme Dance Co. studio is proposed at the southeast corner of St. James Drive and Hammock Creek Trail, adding to the city’s recreational and fitness options.
Development Timeline
The projects are in various stages of city review and permitting. Some applications are recent submissions, while others have been in the approval process for multiple years. Construction timelines will vary based on permit approval and developer schedules.
The wave of new development reflects Port St. Lucie’s continued population growth and commercial expansion as one of Florida’s fastest-growing cities.
