Event season is getting ready to kick into gear, and the Treasure Coast brings a surge of local energy from north to south. You’ll find Treasure Coast events celebrating local food, outdoor fun for families, volunteer opportunities, exciting nights, art, and nature-education events. These events span every interest: foodies, outdoor lovers, families, nature fans, and anyone who wants to embrace the start of the season with purpose.

September 20 – Hook Kids on Fishing Clinic

Hobe Sound Nature Center opens from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for kids ages 5–15 to learn knot tying, casting, conservation, and safety. Each child receives a rod and tackle box. Cost is $5 per family. Quality outdoor learning at low cost.

September 20 – International Coastal Cleanup

Join Keep Martin Beautiful and community volunteers to clean beaches and waterways across the Treasure Coast. Bags and gloves are provided. This is a high-impact event for families, friends, or solo volunteers wanting to help protect our coast.

 

September 27 – International Coastal Cleanup at Blowing Rocks Preserve

The Blowing Rocks Preserve cleanup tackles litter along a unique limestone shoreline. Hosted by The Nature Conservancy, this event gives you a chance to help preserve fragile coastal habitat with tangible results. Join in to help collect marine debris that has been washed ashore and trash left behind.

September 24 – Whiskers for Whiskey

At The Chef’s Table in Stuart at 6 p.m., enjoy a four-course dinner paired with BHAKTA whiskey tastings. Get cocktails, raffle for a dinner-for-two prize, all while supporting the Humane Society. Creative, local, meaningful.

September 27–28 – Port St. Lucie Bacon & BBQ Festival and Fall Craft Fair

At the MIDFLORIDA Event Center, enjoy two days of bacon-centered barbecue bites, chocolate-covered bacon, ribs, pulled pork, and live music. Inside, a fall craft fair offers handmade goods. Admission is free and donations of canned goods are welcomed.

October 4 – Fall Festival at Keiser University

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Port St. Lucie, this family-centered festival includes pony rides, hayrides, a petting zoo, face painting, K9 demos, food trucks, and a pet adoption area. Free admission, free parking, all community-focused.

October 4 – Treasure Coast Boozy Brunch Fest

Clover Park hosts a 21+ brunch party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with bottomless cocktails, small plates, DJs, and brunch lovers. Tickets required. Bring your appetite and a brunch mindset

October 4 – Oktoberfest in Port St. Lucie

From 3 to 9 p.m., the MIDFLORIDA Event Center hosts a German-themed festival with bratwurst, beer, polka music, stein-holding contests, and a dachshund race. Expect a lively but authentic Oktoberfest energy.

October 18-19 – Vero Beach Oktoberfest

Held at the Indian River County Fairgrounds in Vero Beach. The event features a massive 15,000 sqft Biergarten tent, providing guests with a traditional Oktoberfest atmosphere. Enjoy a wide selection of real German and domestic beers, full liquor bars, and delicious food, both German and American. The festival offers 125 vendors showcasing arts, crafts, and local businesses, making it a unique marketplace experience. The event also features live Oktoberfest party bands throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere.

October 11 – Trick or Treat Stroll at the Children’s Museum

From 4 to 6 p.m., kids in costumes stroll through the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, getting candy as they go. Members get early access at 3:30 p.m. Just $3 each. Safe, contained, fun, and easy for families.

October 17 – Spooktacular Night at the Park

Memorial Park in Stuart hosts an evening event of family-friendly activities for all ages. Enjoy a haunted house and a trick-or-treat trail. Participants can also join in a costume parade and enjoy a feature movie presentation.

Free popcorn will be provided for everyone attending. Additional games, activities, and food trucks will enhance the evening’s festivities. This event promotes community engagement and is located at Memorial Park..

October 18 – Fire Fest at Jonathan Dickinson State Park

Jonathan Dickinson State Park hosts its 19th annual FireFest from 1 to 9 p.m. Enjoy live burn demos, guided hikes, hay and swamp buggy rides, a spooky trail, pumpkin patch, kids zone, live music, and educational talks about prescribed fire’s key role in Florida ecosystems. Park admission is $6 per vehicle.

October 18 – Hobe Sound Hometown Festival

Doc Myers Park runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with vintage vehicles, local vendors, live music, and kids activities. Free admission. A relaxed, true hometown experience.

October 24 – Hobgoblins on Main Street

Fort Pierce closes Main Street from 5 to 8 p.m. for family trick-or-treating, live entertainment, and costume contests. No admission. Communities decorated storefronts and decorated streets make it a festive evening.

October 25–26 – Downtown Stuart Fall Craft Festival

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, Osceola Street hosts a juried craft fair. Browse jewelry, artwork, and home goods from regional makers while enjoying historic downtown Stuart. Free entry.

October 31–November 2 – Fall Fun Fest

Port St. Lucie’s Village Square transforms into a carnival. Friday is 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 6 p.m. Rides, games, food vendors, and fall décor make this a high-energy seasonal outing.

October 4-5 – Martin County Marine Flea Market & Seafood Festival

Maritime enthusiasts, families, and seafood lovers can head to the Martin County Fairgrounds for this event. Vendors come to sell new and used boats, fishing, and boating supplies. There will be live music, seafood vendors, and a festival atmosphere.

Night Market in Stuart

Each Thursday evening from 6:30 to 10 p.m., Terra Fermata Garden & Tiki Bar in Downtown Stuart becomes a pop-up market featuring local artisans, street food, and live music. A small cover charge includes entry to live shows. Bring friends, bring cash, enjoy the nightlife. This will run from September 4th to November 27th.

Second Saturdays at the Vero Beach Museum of Art

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can enjoy free Vero Beach Museum of Art entry and themed art sessions. You’ll find drawing workshops, family art studios, and environmental activities—all hands-on, low-cost, and full of creative value

Poorly Drawn Pets by the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast

This ongoing fundraiser lets you submit your pet’s photo and get back a humorous, intentionally clumsy “poorly drawn” portrait in exchange for a donation. A quirky and heartwarming way to support animal care with a keepsake.

Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center: September Events

All month long, the Coastal Center on Hutchinson Island hosts guided mangrove and seagrass walks, estuary experiments, and family-friendly scavenger hunts focused on lagoon life. Naturalists lead each activity. This is hands-on learning in a beautiful outdoor classroom.
