The MIDFLORIDA Event Center is also known as the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center and the Port St. Lucie Civic Center. It’s a facility producing indoor and outdoor events located in the eastern part of Port St. Lucie, at the midpoint between Miami, Orlando, and Tampa. The Event Center features dedicated event spaces that can be rented out for different events, including weddings and fundraisers. There are ballroom spaces, as well as areas to host meetings.
The outdoor plaza and terrace at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center are also available.
Regular community and touring events are hosted at this Port St. Lucie event center. For example, national concert tours stop here, and there are also cultural exhibits and galas to raise money for local organizations. There are ongoing gallery and artist exhibitions that are in a 2,000-square-foot gallery space dedicated to showcasing local and regional artists. A new art collection is chosen periodically in partnership with local organizations, and every exhibit opens with an artist reception that’s free and open to the public.
The Florida Sports Hall of Fame is also located at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center. The Florida Sports Hall of Fame is dedicated to recognition of the most prominent sports figures, leagues, and events from Florida. There’s also an emphasis on fitness awareness, sports activities, and education among the adults and youth who call Florida home.
Founded by the Florida Sports Writers Association and the Florida Sportscasters Association in 1961, the attraction includes memorabilia exhibits from golfer Jack Nicklaus, Coach Bobby Bowden, golfer Andy Bean, tennis star Chris Evert, and the legendary football player Bob Griese. There is memorabilia from teams and individuals, including equipment, photos, videos, uniforms, and trophies. The cost of admission to the Florida Sports Hall of Fame is free, and exhibits are updated annually.
There is an interactive splash pad with restrooms on the plaza of the event center, and there is also an outdoor amphitheater, gym, and festival grounds. Along with banquets, meetings and conferences, trainings, expos, trade shows, festivals, and sports events are hosted at the facility. Annual events held at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center include the Port Saint Lucie Home Show, the Port St. Lucie Art & Craft Expo, and the Port St. Lucie Strawberry Festival.
