Stuart, FL – Five contestants from each of the Martin County School District’s 12 elementary schools and fifth grade students from Indiantown Middle School will compete in the 50th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Jensen Beach High School Auditorium at 10:00am. Special guest, Ashleigh Walters, news anchor with WPTV News channel 5, will be the enunciator for the event.
The top three spellers will receive a 50th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Spelling Bee award and each participant will receive a participation certificate. Each elementary school has the option of registering one student for the Treasure Coast Scripps Regional Spelling Bee on March 12, 2016 at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.
The bee was named after Lillian A Dassori, a founding member and charter president of the Soroptomist International of Stuart and a Martin County Supervisor of Schools
Parents and members of the media are invited to attend the Spelling Bee after checking in at the school’s front office. Jensen Beach High School is located at 2875 NW Goldenrod Road in Jensen Beach.
