Three months and still no decision.
The family of Corey Jones held another protest outside the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s office Monday.
They want to know whether the officer who shot and killed the stranded motorist will be charged. It was peaceful protest, but it appears there is a growing impatience.
Jones was shot and killed in the early morning hours of October 18 by former Palm Beach Gardens Police officer Nouman Raja as he waited for a tow truck on the side of an I-95 exit ramp.
Jones’ s grandfather says the state attorney’s office has had enough time to make a decision on whether to charge Raja, who has since been fired by the police force.
The state attorney’s office would not comment on the protestors’ concerns that the decision is taking too long. A spokeswoman said the Corey Jones case is still being reviewed.
