Vero Beach: Man Arrested after killing his wife.
A man was arrested following a stand-off with police after shooting and killing his wife.
Vero Beach police responded to a call Thursday afternoon. After investigators say 68-year old Earl Boggess shot and killed his 60-year old wife Kathryn Boggess inside of their home on 17th street.
The suspect called 911 and admitted to shooting his wife. He also made threats to kill himself.
When officers arrived on scene, they found the man in the pool area of the home armed with a gun.
After a brief stand-off, SWAT ordered him to drop the weapon. After the man refused, a non-lethal bean bag round was deployed, knocking the gun out of the man’s hand. He was taken into custody and questioned at the police station by detectives. The woman was found in the kitchen, dead from an apparent gun shot wound.
Earl Boggess is charged with a Second Degree Murder and is held without a bond until first appearance.
