US Postal worker arrested for stealing mail

US Postal worker arrested for stealing mail.

Following weeks of investigation into missing mail and gift cards that never arrived to their intended destinations, Martin County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested 59-year old Robin Poetzsch, (also known as Robin Butts), a 14-year US Postal employee who worked primarily out of the Jensen Beach Post Office on NE Savannah Road. She also worked on occasion at the post office on Hutchinson Island.

Poetzsch was arrested yesterday. She was charged with 5-counts of Petit Theft and 1-count of Tampering with Evidence. Martin County Sheriff’s Detective Eugene Marcaida was able to track at least four victims who say they sent cards or mail containing gift cards to family or friends, but the mail never arrived to its intended destination. Poetzsch admitted to stealing gift cards as she processed mail at her job. She would then discard the remaining contents of the envelope. Detectives believe there could be more victims who don’t realize that their mail never made it to their intended recipient.

Robin Poetzch was arrested on a warrant. She was taken to the Martin County Jail. She was released on a $3000.00 bond.
