Tiger Woods had mix of Vicodin and Xanax according to Jupiter Police.

Tiger Woods had a mix of Vicodin and Xanax before he was arrested in Jupiter on Memorial Day according to the Jupiter Police.

He said he had an unexpected reaction. He also provided a urine sample and took two breath tests showing he had no alcohol in his  system.

Tiger recently had back surgery. He was found sleeping in his car. It is now reported that he is going back to rehab for “pill addiction”

I know that everyone is sick of hearing about this. I think its a good time to have a conversation.

First of all we want to wish Tiger the best in rehab and to let you know that we, your community, supports you! We want nothing more than for you to feel better and get back to your game.

If anyone has a positive message of support for Tiger please leave in the comments down below.  We will see if we can get it to him.

He lives here. He’s our neighbor. This is what we do in the Treasure Coast.

This is from Drugs.com.

There is a MAJOR interaction between alprazolam and hydrocodone (Generic name)

Using narcotic pain or cough medications together with other medications that also cause central nervous system depression can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma, and even death. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. Do not drink alcohol or self-medicate with these medications without your doctor’s approval, and do not exceed the doses or frequency and duration of use prescribed by your doctor. Also, you should avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how these medications affect you. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Many people think that if your prescribed something that it is ok to drive. It’s not. Use your common sense.

Consequences of driving drugged.

A Florida motorist can be convicted of a drug DUI for driving or being in “actual physical control” of a vehicle while under the influence of certain “harmful chemicals” or “controlled substances.” (Fla. Stat. Ann. § 316.193 (2017).)

Actual physical control. Being in actual physical control of a vehicle means the driver is in or on the vehicle and has the capability to operate it. So, a motorist can be convicted of a DUI even if not actually driving.

Under the influence. Under Florida law, a driver is considered under the influence when, as the result of ingesting drugs, the driver’s “normal faculties are impaired.” One Florida court explained that impairment means “worsening or diminishment in some material respect.” In other words, the drugs must have affected the person’s mental or physical abilities in a significant way. (Shaw v. State, 783 So. 2d 1097 (2001).)

Harmful chemicals. The substances that qualify as “harmful chemicals” are defined by statute. The list includes nitrous oxide, isopropyl alcohol, and a number of chemicals (such as acetone and toluene) found in chemical solvents. Generally, these chemicals are substances that recreational drug users inhale (or “huff”) to get high. (Fla. Stat. Ann. § 877.111 (2017).)

Controlled substances. Florida’s list of “controlled substances” is extensive and includes:

  • opioids
  • opiates
  • stimulants
  • hallucinogens,
  • benzodiazepines, and
  • cannabinoids.

Marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and painkillers (like OxyContin and Vicodin) are some of the more common examples of controlled substances.

(Fla. Stat. Ann. § 893.03 (2017).)

Essentially if you go to the dentist and you had some nitrous oxide you can be stopped.

I think, I hope, that Tiger has learned his lesson and we wish him the best at rehab. Please let’s wish him the best and ask him a favor. When your finished could you do some PSA’s on this subject? Could you help us save some lives out there?

We have Uber now so there is no excuse not to call for a ride.

Here is a link to our local community acupuncture which is a great help for pain.

Please everyone lets all take a moment to use this as a cautionary tale and help our friends and neighbors.

We have a new LIKE button on the bottom of the page. Please Like and leave a message for Tiger.

Update June 20:

So Happy to see this message from Tiger!
