Burglary Alert: Thieves target boating equipment accessing property from water and docks.
The Martin County Sheriff”s Office would like to alert residents who live along St. Lucie Boulevard to a rash of boat burglaries that occurred over the weekend.
Deputies responded to four burglaries that occurred on, or around the area of St. Lucie Boulevard sometime Sunday. According to our Senior Crime Analyst, the crimes occurred between the hours of midnight and 9:00 am. It appears that the thieves accessed the boats via the water, or docks. They stole expensive fishing equipment, as well as electronics from each scene.
They are urging residents who own boats in that area, to secure all of their equipment, and report any suspicious activity to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
