Ten Mile Creek Preserve provides canoe access to Ten Mile Creek, a tributary of the North Fork of the St. Lucie River. This eight-acre site features a short, self-guided interpretive trail that winds through the floodplain forest and swamp. The trail offers views of the historic oxbows, which showcase the natural water flow patterns of the creek.
The preserve contains a mix of floodplain forest and swamp, with notable examples of hammock hickory. Visitors can expect to see various wildlife, including alligators, black vultures, turkey vultures, herons, egrets, and ibis. Birdwatchers can observe these species along the trail and near the water. Fishing and canoeing are also popular activities in the preserve.
