The ancient Egyptians believed a vein ran directly from the ring finger to the heart; it’s the origin of the wedding band — and a fallacy, of course, as you’ll hear in the clip below.
This is the second in a 27-part series of videos from Sweethearts & Heroes co-founders Jason Spector and Tom Murphy with conversations, tips and strategies that surround the Sweethearts & Heroes mission. They are meant to generate ideas and discussion among you, and those you know.
For example: our first segment featured Jason and Tom discussing the reasons Tom’s fingernails are painted red and blue (for texting and driving, and clicking to send hate on the Web, respectively). (To see that clip, to go: our YouTube Channel )
Here, Jason explains why the nail on his ring finger is white: commitment. Jason has been a teacher and coach in Glens Falls, N.Y., for 17 years, so the white nail is a lesson to his students and athletes — and himself — about commitment.
“Unfortunately, we live in a world where there’s not a lot of commitment these days,” Jason says in this clip. “When you’re passionate about something, and you’re committed to something, it runs right to your heart.”
Enjoy…
