SUSPECT PULLED KNIFE ON LAWN CARE WORKER, CHALLENGED MCSO K-9 BINGO, BINGO WON
The suspect who prompted a morning manhunt after pulling a knife on a lawn care worker, has been captured after picking a fight with the K-9 that located him.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed and dangerous call just before 9-o’clock this morning. The victim told deputies he was mowing the lawn in Jensen Beach near a 7/11 when the suspect, identified as 39-year old Donald Milton, approached him and threatened him with a knife. Milton was napping near the woods, and was angry over the sound of the lawn mower.
When deputies arrived, Milton took off on foot into a heavily wooded area along Federal Highway. A perimeter was set up, and a K-9 unit was called in to assist. K-9 Deputy Justin Albauer and his K-9 partner Bingo entered the woods, and began searching. A short time later, K-9 Deputy Bingo located Milton, but Milton refused to comply to Deputy Albauer’s commands. Instead, Milton began punching K-9 Bingo.
In turn, Bingo initiated a K-9 arrest.
Way to go Bingo.
Milton was secured, then taken to Martin Memorial Hospital for observation. He will be charged with aggravated assault, battery on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest.
