Subtropical Storm Andrea, season’s 1st named storm forms

Miami, Fl (treasurecoast.com)- Hurricane season officially starts in 11 days, but we have our first named storm of the season already. Subtropical Storm Andrea formed in the Atlantic basin Monday afternoon. As of the 5am update Andrea has winds of 40mph and is located about 295 miles west, southwest of Bermuda. The storm is moving to the north and is not expected to pose a threat to the United States. This is a good reminder though to make sure you have all of your hurricane supplies and are ready for hurricane season.
