Stuart Police Officer builds handrail for senior citizen
Stuart, Fl– A Stuart police officer sprung into action to help out a senior citizen.
The police department says that Officer Chris Ruediger learned that the elderly woman was unable to go outside of her home after a handrail had been knocked down. So Officer Ruediger reached out to Jeff Marquis with the Salvation Army, who was happy to donate money towards the materials.
Officer Ruediger then got help from resident Phillip Lambert to construct the new handrail. In the end, the three made sure that life was just a little bit easier for the woman in need.
Ofc. Ruediger learned a female senior citizen could not go outside of her home because of a broken railing. Jeff Marquis @SalArmyMCFL donated funds for supplies. Phillip Lambert, a neighbor and Ofc. Ruediger built a new ramp. We love a community that helps each other. pic.twitter.com/s0TgGVpOmP
