Stuart Community Concert Band Set To Perform “Popular Music Through The Years”

Did you know? The Stuart Community Concert Band is celebrating 100 years of playing music. Would you like to hear some of this great music?  If so, let the memories flow as this community band performs some of your favorite tunes from decades and eras past.

This month’s performance by the Stuart Community Concert Band will feature “Popular Music Through The Years.” The music begins at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the Kane Center, located south of Stuart at 900 S.E. Salerno Road.
“Popular Music Through The Years”  is just that. Think of an era… 1940 Big Bands, 1950 Hoagy Carmichael, 1960 Henry Mancini, Ray Charles, 1970 Earth, Wind and Fire, Journey. You get the idea. Whenever you were born, we’ve got music that was the best from that era.

Seats are still available. Admission tickets are $10 each ($8.00 for Kane Center members). For more information about concert tickets, contact the Kane Center at 772-223-7800. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.kanecenter.org. Or you can get tickets at the door.

Then get ready to clap your hands, tap your toes, sing along with your favorite songs, and dance to the music as the band performs tunes such as “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Tribute to Stephen Foster,” “Sinatra,” “Tijuana Brass in Concert,” “American Salute,” “South Pacific,” “Salute to Spike Jones,” and many more great selections.
The Stuart Community Concert Band is under the direction of Jim LeBon, who serves as the band director for Southport Middle School. The group consists of dedicated volunteer musicians of all ages, ranging from high school students to retired residents in their eighties.
They play for the love of music.

Always looking for new talent!

Everyone is welcome! Are you a music lover? Do you play a musical instrument? Did you ever? If so, this community band is always looking for new talent.
The group has musicians from all walks of life, ages, and professions who happily donate their time and talents to create quality music. Band members vary in skill level from those who have made music their life’s work to people who haven’t picked up an instrument in many years. What they all have in common is that they speak the same language… M-U-S-I-C.

History
