St. Lucie Libraries Continue Adult Learning Series

  1. LUCIE COUNTY – Learning should be a life-long endeavor, which is why St. Lucie County Libraries give adults the chance to socialize and stimulate their brains with a variety of programs for adults.

Adult programs for January include:

  • Garden Chat on Wednesday, Jan. 5 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Lakewood Park Branch. Learn about the “right plant, right place” philosophy to gardening.
  • Art in the Afternoon: New Year Book Folding on Wednesday, Jan. 12 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the Kilmer Branch Library. Challenge yourself with a new pattern in this hands-on class where you will create a ‘Happy New Year’ design with “cut and fold” book art. Supplies provided. Space is limited to the first 10 participants.
  • Smoking Cessation on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. New Year’s Resolution to quit smoking? Join the library staff and the Everglades Area Health Education Center for this “Tools to Quit” smoking cessation workshop. You’ll create an individual plan to quit and receive free tools to help you achieve success, including nicotine replacement patches, gum and lozenges.
  • Ukulele Jam on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Morningside Branch. In partnership with the Treasure Coast Ukulele Club, residents can bring your own instrument or check one out at the library and join the jam.
  • eBay Workshop on Saturday, Jan. 22 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Morningside Branch. Led by David Larson, an eBay powerseller graduate, this free workshop will cover necessary computer skills, banking aspects, eBay listing program, shipping methods, security concerns and selling tips.
