Wednesday night, the St Lucie County Special Investigations Unit concluded a two-week undercover operation at America’s Best Value Inn on Darter Court near State Road 70 and I-95.
Undercover detectives had made purchases of pills, crack cocaine and heroin.
Detectives entered six rooms simultaneously overnight. One suspect fled on foot and was apprehended.
Patrol deputies assisted the Special Investigations Unit by taking the suspects to the St. Lucie County jail.
At room 235, suspect Alexis Pierre opened the door just as detectives were about to knock. A plume of marijuana smoke billowed out of the room. Ecstasy and crack cocaine were in plain view.
After an interview, detectives received consent to search the room and seized numerous drugs plus a gun and $1800 cash.
Pierre was charged. He is jailed under $160,000 bond. He was one of seven people arrested.
