SIX THOUSAND ELDERLY FLORIDIANS DIED WAITING FOR SERVICES
More than six thousand elderly Floridians died over the past year while they waited for services from the state to which they were legally entitled. Senator Arthenia Joyner (D-Tampa) says most of those people were on the waiting lists for home care, Alzheimer’s treatment and Community Care for the Elderly… all of which are designed to keep people out of nursing homes
Joyner says it’s unconscionable for the legislature to give hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks to businesses when people are dying as they wait for assistance from the state.
