Six prostitutes were arrested by authorities in St Lucie County. The Sheriff’s Office announced that the investigation focused on the area of Okeechobee Road between the turnpike and I-95 because of several complaints in that area of the women walking up and knocking on people’s doors, and walking back and forth between the hotels. The women arrested ranged in age from 19 to 47 years old. All were from the Treasure Coast, except for one who is from North Carolina.
The 3 Palms Motel and the Sleep Inn, near Okeechobee Road and the Florida Turnpike, were among the areas targeted. Some of the women had been arrested for prostitution in the past.
