Expansion of the residential recycling program of single stream recycling to multi-family communities.
The City of Fort Pierce is excited to announce the expansion of the residential recycling program to multi-family communities.
“Multi-family residents have asked for recycling and we are delivering. We will build on the success of the DoMoreBlue single stream recycling program. It will make Fort Pierce even cleaner and greener than before,” said Tysha Williams, Solid Waste Operations Manager.
Condominium and apartment complexes that currently use 96, 300-gallon trash containers or dumpsters serviced by the City of Fort Pierce can participate in the expanded recycling program. The complexes must have enough room to store the 96-gallon recycling carts for weekly recycling collections in order to be eligible.
Congrats to Ft Pierce for becoming a more sustainable city.

What is single stream recycling?
Here is a good article from Boulder. If anyone has their recycling stuff together its this place.
It’s the future for responsible resource conservation and an important step toward meeting our goal of building a Zero Waste community by 2020. Single-stream recycling makes it almost as easy to use the recycling bin as it is to use the trash can.
