Martin County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Deacetis is recovering from minor injuries, after his patrol car was rear-ended while stopped at a traffic light along Martin Highway Saturday night.

The deputy’s patrol car was heavily damaged in the crash. The driver of the car that hit him, 31-year old Anthony Squadrito of Palm City, then became confrontational with the injured deputy. When other units arrived, Squadrito continued to be confrontational. He was arrested and charged with Felony Driving Under the Influence, DUI with property damage and injury, and resisting arrest without violence.
