Sheriff Mascara Sets a New Record

Sheriff Ken Mascara proudly announces his largest single fundraising month ever, raising over $42,000 in the month of July. Mascara said, “I am so honored and humbled by this outpouring of support. With 135 contributors in this past month alone, we managed to break every record I’ve ever set in any prior campaign!”

First elected to office in 2000, Mascara heads into his fifth term as Sheriff of St. Lucie County. Having increased efficiencies and streamlined his office over the last fifteen years, he has presided over a 28% decline in crime since taking office and kept the Sheriff’s Office moving forward even during the recession of recent years.

“The last few years have challenged all of us – the incredible men and women with whom I work every day at the Sheriff’s Office have embraced the ‘new normal’ of doing more with less and have never lost sight of their charge to protect and serve this community,” said Mascara.

After contentious elections in 2000 and 2004, Sheriff Mascara had a resounding win in 2008 and ran unopposed in 2012. Going into the 2016 election, having already raised over $83,000 more than a year before the election, Mascara appreciates the strength of this reelection effort. “This groundswell of support for my campaign says we’re doing something right, heading in a positive direction, and the hardworking people of this community are saying my work is not done yet. It’s a privilege to serve St. Lucie County every day, and I look forward to continuing to build upon the great work we’ve done to date.”
