Shark bites Martin County lifeguard
Swimming is prohibited today at Jensen Beach.
A Martin County Ocean Rescue lifeguard was bit by a shark this morning.
The shark bit his hand as the lifeguard was paddling in the water.
The lifeguard has minor injuries and is being evaluated.
Swimming is not permitted at the public beach at Jensen Beach today.
Double red flags are flying at Jensen Beach. Swimming is prohibited until further notice.
Swimmers may use other guarded beaches in Martin County and are reminded to obey lifeguards’ warnings.
